The works by Salvatore Fancello (1916-1941) on permanent display at the Museo della Scultura del ’900 Sardo and those once owned by the celebrated Rationalist architect Giancarlo Palanti, only recently rediscovered, are brought together in a volume that also serves as the catalogue of the exhibition at Spazio Ilisso (10 May-22 June 2025). This is a unique opportunity to admire the sculpture and graphic work of an unrivalled figure in twentieth-century art, and, through a broad survey of his output, to appreciate the distinctive qualities of his style, his vision, and his artistic gesture: the bodies that Fancello models or draws, as Giorgio Agamben writes in his preface, ‘are like pockets of space stirred by a sudden flicker, stretched just beyond themselves.’
